The German Gewehr 43 is a semi automatic rifle developed during ww2. A modification from the previous Gewehr 41. Only in service for 2 short years from 1943 to 1945. Using the same ammunition as the Kar98k, being the 7.92x57mm Mauser round, although kept in an underbarrel 10 round capacity detachable box magazine. Germany sought a semi automatic infantry rifle, resulting in the G41 made from both the companys Mauser and Walther. Both suffered reliability issues, untill Walther modified its gas system, similar to that of the Russian SVT rifle, and won the right to be produced for the war effort.

The Gewehr can be found in all World at War maps, including Nacht in the mystery box as it is in the box's rotation. Able to be purchased off the wall for 600 points, along with 130rounds, 10 of which in each magazine. The Gewehr is critical for early round survival and point building after your colt ammo runs dry. The amount of shots to the body before killing, correlates exactly to the round counter until round 5 onward, meaning one less shot than the round is required before a kill, similar to most semi automatic rifles. After round 5, prioritising headshots will maintain a healthy balance between survival and point accumulation. This rifle effectively replaces the starting Colt in terms of point gathering until fully automatic firearms are at your disposal.
Pack-a-Punch:[]
Moving to the upgraded version at the cost of 5000 points, we have the G115 Compressor. Increasing magazine size to 12 and having 170 extra munitions in hand. In terms of taming the Hellhounds, a poor choice. Quite the contrary to zombies as it's usefulness remains before the rounds go into the 20's, much like the Armageddon, but of more use due to the semi automatic action in regards to points and quick killing ability.

The 7.92x57mm Mauser round was adopted by the German Empire in 1905, and was the German service cartridge in both World Wars. Still popular for sport and hunting and later named simply, to the 8mm Mauser.
